She was flying, high above the Earth; she was everywhere and nowhere all at once. Environmental conditions had no effect on her; she had complete control of her mind and body. She could regenerate her own cells as they died. Not even the vacuum of space could harm her.
“The boy’s energy has made you stronger than I expected…this is your awakening, your time to explore, to learn your full potential…go explore this world, don’t be afraid, I can always find you and nothing of this world can harm you…this will be the first of many adventures you will take.” Her mother had told her.
And so she did. She stood in the backyard, leapt into the air, and was gone in a flash. It seemed so simple, almost instinctual, and as easy as walking. As she rose high above the world, she could reach out and hear the thoughts of the humans below, now she was able to focus on individuals and not only hear their thoughts but feel their emotions as well…drawing energy from each. She thought of the boy, her love, which she had just sent home. It was so simple, she just imagined him sleeping in his own bed, and in an instant, she had transported him there with her own powers.
She had sent him notes, mental text messages that took physical form for him to read, and a gift as well, one that she knew he would deeply enjoy. His emotions would continue to give her strength. All she had to do was to think of him and she could see into his world, see him, feel him, and even talk to him if she wished. If he were in trouble, she could be by his side in an instant.
She was moving fast now, circling the Earth, experiencing emotions from millions of humans from far-off lands. “This world is full of horrors and wonders alike,” she thought as she felt the endless range of emotions flowing through her. She realized now that language was no barrier to her. She understood every human language and could speak the language of her choosing at any time.
Far over Europe, she felt the emotions of a sad child, reading the child’s thoughts she learned that this child was a prisoner. The child had been taken against its will and had been subjected to horrible abuse by terrible men. She swept in like a bolt of lightning. The child’s captors were stunned as she appeared before them out of thin air.
One man attempted to subdue her but was thrown back against the wall with such force that his skull fractured instantly and his body was broken. The other men raised their weapons, opening fire. The bullets stopped in mid-air around her and fell to the floor. She waved her hands and the men’s weapons vanished. With a snap of her fingers, the remaining men all dropped to the floor. She could have killed them all with a simple thought if she had wanted to, but she left them all impotent and weak. None of them would ever harm a child again. She bent down and whispered into the ear of one of the fallen men.
“I know you all, I can find you any time I want…remember that.” She told him. Then she snapped her fingers. In a flash of light, the child was teleported back to its family, all was well.
She was a superhero, no…a goddess. She continued her journey helping many others along the way, her powers were incredible now and seemed to grow stronger as she traveled. She thought of the boy, and in doing so found him enjoying the gift she had left for him. She felt his explosive release inside the soft lining of the diaper and smiled. His happiness gave her even more strength.
She wanted to be with him physically, so she altered her course and headed for home. “Home,” she thought. What was home? She had memories of fleeing with her mother, fleeing a world of sadness and torture. That world wasn’t home; it had just been a holding pen. This world was wonderful, with all its wonders and horrors alike, it was nothing like the holding pen. But it was not home. As she flew high above the Earth she wondered if she would ever find her true home.
