It wasn’t Emma in the chair, but K.J. Her wrists were duct-taped to the chair arms, her mouth was packed with something that made her cheeks bulge and a wide strip of tape covered the lower half of her face, but she was alive. When she saw Tony, her eyes widened. She shook her head frantically and offered muted pleas.
“Jesus,” Tony said. He got the warning a moment too late. There was the sound of movement behind him and a shooting pain as something heavy struck the back of his leg. He yelped and tumbled to the floor, the tripod slipping from his grasp. He rolled onto his back and looked up, his eyes also growing wide at the sight of his attacker.
