The short segments on the talk shows made them fairly easy to follow, but the mental anguish of his own problems made him less than sympathetic to other people’s woes. At least the cartoons gave him some diversion from his troubles. Occasionally he would smile and chuckle at some silly antic of the inane cartoon characters. While he vegetated on the couch in front of the boob tube, his body continued to silently regress further into his childhood. One by one his teeth were sucked back into his gums only to be replaced a few days later by the smaller version of the tooth that he had had as a young child.
