With Dougie gone, Ray went back to his room and played for a while, giving Trinna a chance to catch up on her reading. Soon enough dinner time rolled around, and they ordered a pizza with the ‘food money’ their parents had left for them. They probably ate too much, but it didn’t seem worthwhile to save just two slices of pizza.
Soon after they finished up, the phone rang and Trinna answered. “McHenry residence, how may I direct your call?”
“Very funny.” Said the voice on the other end. “How’re you two holding up?”
“We’re just fine, mom. How’s the wedding?”
Mrs. McHenry sighed. “It’s… a wedding.”
“That bad, huh?”
Trinna heard a faint voice in the background, “Oh, he passed out in the cake!”
“I really need to go. Remember Ray’s bedtime.”
