“Hey can I play with that?”
Sarah asked excitedly. Molly shook her head. It was her toy. She didn’t want to share.
“Oh please” Sarah begged.
Molly continued to shake her head and shook her rattle at the same time.
“I’ll share my blocks.” Sarah said desperately.
The bartering gave Molly a few moments worth of hesitation and then she gave in.
“Okay. Lets swap”
The two girls switched places so that Molly was now the one building the block tower. Sarah now had possession of the rattle and she shook it and squealed in delight at the noise she was making.
Molly looked over at Jennifer to ask if she wanted to help and noticed Jennifer was now chewing on a set of multi-coloured plastic keys and that she had a daydream sort of look to her face, like she was imagining herself some place entirely different.
“Jenny. You okay?”
Jennifer nodded as she chewed on her toy absently. She pulled the keys from her mouth.
“Yeah i’m okay, although i’m soggy now.”
She said with a giggle, pulling up her dress to show that her disposable diaper was indeed now soaked between her thighs. A daycare worker was passing the playpen as Jennifer did this and saw what had happened.
“Uh oh! Does someone need her diapee changing? Come here then sweetie and i’ll get you all snug and dry again”
Without question Jennifer waddled over to the edge of the playpen bars and the daycare worker hoisted Jennifer out and carried her to a baby changing table all the while cooing encouragement to the teenager that she would be all sorted out in just a short while. Molly watched her friend as she was laid on the table. She was shocked that Jennifer had just wet herself quite happily in front of everyone. Jennifer was smiling as she continued to chew on the plastic keys and the worker cleaned her up, lifted her legs up so that her bottom could be dusted with talc and then she was lowered onto a fresh fluffy disposable diaper and was taped securely in. The worker picked Jennifer back up off the table and gave the teenager a large hug before setting her down on her feet.
“You can run around for a bit while I see to your friends okay?”
The worker beamed at Jennifer and Jennifer nodded and ran up to the bars of the playpen.
“I get to play outside the pen. HA HA!”
She said and stuck her tongue out before running round and round in circles in front of Molly and Sarah. The daycare worker smiled and walking up to the large bars again she beckoned to Molly. Molly toddled over, hiding slightly behind her pink teddy bear. The worker lifted Molly from the playpen and laid her down on her back on the carpet. Un-popping a couple of the poppers in the crotch of her overalls the worker stuck her index finger between the leg elastic of Mollys diaper and retracted it quickly. She did the poppers back up, and lifted Molly back onto her feet.
“It’s okay Molly you’re still dry so you can go play.”
