Molly patted her friend’s shoulder reassuringly as Jennifer’s Mom came back into the room at the sound of all the crying.

“What’s all the fuss abou…..Oh. ”

Jennifer’s mom was by Sarah’s side in an instant.

“Sweetie, come on now, lets get you cleaned up. It’s okay if you had an accident it happens to everyone when they’re learning to be a big girl”

This made Sarah wail even louder

“But…But I am a big girl” She sobbed and Jennifer’s mom pulled her up off the sofa and gave her a reassuring hug.

“Yes you are, but your much younger than Jennifer and even Molly is bigger than you so you’re doing really well to be staying dry just as much as they are. You should be really proud of yourself. But it’s okay to have an accident once in a while. Lets get you into a fresh pull-up okay”

Sarah nodded meekly and allowed herself to be led over to a pack of pull-ups in the corner of the lounge. Jennifers mom pulled Jessica’s wet pull-up down and cleaned her private area with a couple of baby wipes.

“Now. Do you need to use the potty before I put you in a new pull-up?” Jennifer’s mom asked tenderly.

Sarah thought about it for a moment then shyly shook her head.

“Okay, good girl now step into this okay”

She had pulled a fresh pull-up from the pack and was holding it open so that Sarah could step into the leg holes which she did without question and Jennifer’s mom pulled them up to snap snuggly onto the 17 year old’s waist.

“There we go, isn’t that much better. Try to stay dry okay?”

Sarah brushed the tears out of her eyes and put on a brave face, nodding in a determined fashion. Jennifer’s mom patted Sarah on the arm and went back to her seat.

Molly had watched all this with complete interest. She felt sorry that Sarah had ended up having an accident, but wasn’t sure if she could, or even should, bring herself to do the same thing.

Suddenly Jennifer came into the room smiling now that she was in a pale blue short baby doll dress with white ankle socks and a blue hair band holding her hair out of her eyes. Molly had never seen Jennifer look so babyish and adorable. Jennifer saw Molly staring and did a quick twirl, the dress fluttered up to show Jennifer’s princess pull-ups too, but she wasn’t embarrassed. This was normality for her.

“Do you like it? My Mom bought it for me yesterday I wanted to show it to you guys, to see what you think.”

Sarah wrapped her arms around her own waist and hugged herself.

“Oh Jenny that’s beautiful!”

Molly had been about to call her adorable but she didn’t know if that would make Jennifer go into a fit. Jennifer didn’t like cute or cuddly things. The term Beautiful seemed to have done the trick though and Jennifer beamed happily.

“I knew you guys would like it. ”

She looked at her mom.

“Mom can we go upstairs and watch TV and hang? I’m gonna order pizza as well kay?”

Her mom twisted round in her seat and smiled.

“Sure sweetie, just make sure you take your potty with you and just remember to tinkle when you need to”

Jennifer scoffed. “Mom I haven’t had an accident for almost four whole days now. I think I can tell when I need to go.” Jennifer whined at her mom.

Her mom chuckled.

“I know sweetie and you know the rules, a week dry in pull-ups and you can have big girl panties so you’re almost there I just don’t want you to ruin your track record because you’re engrossed in playing with your friends that’s all.”

Jennifer nodded her scowl evaporating as she realised her mom was simply looking out for her.

“Okay mom.”

She collected the red potty in the corner of the room and then turned to Molly and Sarah,

“Come on guys, lets go to my room”
