Kelly Witman was your average girl in most respects.
She was in eighth grade,
about to enter high school.
She hung out with friends and went to the movies,
went shopping…
normal things for her age group.
But she was alone among her friends in one respect.
She wanted to remain a child.
She had always had these feelings but now that she was about to enter high school,
they were much stronger.
There was no doubt she was getting older.
No more middle school,
she was to be a high school student.
She envied her younger sister, Jessica, who was still in kindergarten.
In fact, she would often play dolls or house with her sister and her friends instead of going out.
