While placing the basic necessities into the diaper bag, I noticed a pacifier stuffed in an unzipped pocket. I wondered if it was Lea’s or if this was a bag used by all children here, and it was carelessly left there.
“Hey Amber just curious, is that bag specifically for Lea, or is it used for every child here?” I asked Amber who was skimming through a number of items, in search of something.
“Oh yeah that’s Lea’s, every kid that needs one has one of their own. Why do you ask?” She replied, digging intently through a drawer.
“Well it’s just that I didn’t know that Lea never outgrew her pacifier.” I inquired with a puzzled expression on my face.
Amber ceased thrashing around and paid attention to what I said.
