“So about that duck-” I started up again, but was cut short by the sudden babbling of the kid in front of me, yelling for an autograph and pictures and whatnot. I desperately tried to get the boy’s attention, but to no avail. I could tell Lea was getting upset over the yelling, so I decided to stop talking. Finally, the young man quieted down all together and asked.
“Wait, since when do you have a daughter?” while pointing to the little girl on top of my shoulders.
My patience was growing thin with him, so I firmly replied:
“Look, how much does that duck cost; the one right above you?”
