As the day continued on, we all played on countless different rides. Bumper cars proved to be the most fun. Amber teamed up with Lea in knocking my car around mercilessly. A couple of other instances where people recognized me came along, but I brushed them off and enjoyed the day. After another change, this time expertly done by Amber, we all watched the sun dim from the blue sky and fade into the horizon. I treated little Lea to some ice cream just before heading back to my car.
The ride back was less than half an hour, and every second of it I wished I could finally just turn around and head back to my home where Lea could sleep in her room, rather than that cramped orphanage. It brought me such a great deal of sadness when we finally pulled up to the center’s entrance.
