Even though it was not their original intention to strike fear or worry in the little girl, I still was somewhat at odds with them.
I began to cool down as an inevitable clashing of the three of us was about to commence.
“Oh hey Marshall, how’ve ya been?” Amber cheerfully greeted.
“Oh you know; same old, same old.” I replied with a smirk, whilst curiously staring at the woman next to her. It had seemed that Amber noticed where my eyes were being concentrated on, and addressed the problem.
“Listen,” She said pulling slightly closer to me. “I know what happened yesterday, me and Kathy were talking about it on our way here.” She briefly looked back at Kathy who was timidly looking at the ground just a couple of feet away. “You know Lea has been going on non-stop about you since yesterday.” Amber explained softly, with true joy hinting in her voice.
