Amber smiled at my words and took a baby diaper nearby, along with a bottle of baby powder, and handed them to me. Lea was looking curiously around the room; an expression on her face no short of amazed at the height that she was staring everything and everyone at. I smiled warmly while proceeding to the nearest bathroom.
The re-diapering process took only a couple of minutes and we were back out, walking to Amber once again. I sat down on an empty bunk and placed the little girl on my lap. The way she giggled, smiled, and even just stared brought me an indescribable warmth inside. I wished I could’ve stayed longer with her, but I knew I had already a major event that required my presence without excuses; the wretched date with Stephanie. Oh Joy…
