“I’m sorry,” she said earnestly. “I never meant to do that to you.”
“We know you didn’t, honey,” Nancy said assuringly.
“But, just to be on the safe side, to make sure this doesn’t happen again…. we’re grounding you.”
“What?!” Megan snapped. Grounding was for 14-year old brats. She was a nineteen-year-old woman. There was no way they were pulling this on her. “Hey…you said that no matter what, I’d still be an adult…”
“And adults take responsibility,” Nancy reminded her.
“Our house, our rules,” said Drew.
Megan bit her lip in frustration. They had her there. She couldn’t simply pick up her bags and leave. Jess might have been able to (and eventually did), but not her. Besides, who among those she knew would want to take in a 19-year old bed wetter going through a rough phase?
