That she had no idea what it was like to be a parent. That, after her own recent behavior, she should be the last person to say anything. They’d be right, too. But she felt she could deal with it.
“Psst….Meg,” Stephen whispered.

Megan approached his room and saw that the door was open just a crack. She could tell that he was hiding, but couldn’t quite figure out why. After all, he wasn’t the one being yelled at lately.
He put his video game on pause and looked at her eagerly, almost impatiently for an explanation.
“Why are Mom and Dad so mad at Carrie?” he wanted to know. “Was I right? Was she with a boy?”
Megan nodded. She knew she would have no way of being able to explain this and hoped he wouldn’t ask too many more questions.
“Were they DOING THE DEED?”
