Hailey still hadn’t used the diapers yet. She had been paying attention to Erin’s use of them, though, attempting to confirm the daily diaper routine so that she could later use it to her advantage. From what she could see, it wouldn’t be too difficult to use them without her parents finding out.
If Erin woke up wet in the middle of the night, Hailey had observed, she would simply change herself and dispose of the diaper in the dark without leaving the bedroom. In the morning, whether she was wet or dry, she would leave her diaper on until she was ready to shower. Erin would remove the diaper in the bedroom and put it in its trash can, cleaning herself with wipes if she’d been wet. She would then head to the shower, wearing her pajamas but with nothing underneath. Hailey’s diaper was never wet, but she followed a similar procedure.
