Sue glared at him for using that language, but she wasn’t naive enough to believe the girls hadn’t heard that word before, so she didn’t push the issue.

Even Erin had to smile at this.
“Now, let’s get you home so you can get some dry clothes on.”
Martin had once heard that it was foolish to go anywhere without a towel; as a result, he had one in the trunk of his car. Sure, having his niece sit on it after she’d had an accident so she didn’t get the car seat wet wasn’t one of the uses he’d planned on, but the towel was certainly proving its worth.
