Hailey looked over at her in amusement. “You’re supposed to scream when we’re at the top of the peak, not when we’re going back down,” she said, a big smile on her face.

Erin hadn’t even noticed, but indeed, as the other side of the ship peaked, its riders screamed, most of them with their arms in the air. She fell backwards, and again got the same exhilarating combination of fear and fun.

This is great! Erin couldn’t explain why this should be so entertaining, but it was like nothing she’d ever felt before. She thoroughly enjoyed the rest of the ride, even if her body didn’t seem entirely convinced that it was supposed to be in such odd positions.

The ship finally slowed down to a stop and Erin and her family walked off of it, Erin slightly wobbly on her feet.

Martin glanced at her. “So, how was it?”

“Let’s do that again! That was great!”

Hailey smiled. She didn’t think she’d ever seen such a thrilled look on Erin’s face. “Sure, I’ll go again.”
