“Okay, then, my next question I’d like you to think about. Would you consider wearing some sort of protection at night? It’d probably be more comfortable for you than waking up in a wet bed, and it’ll be easier to clean up.”

It’d be easier for you to clean up anyway if you just let me do the cleanup, Erin thought. Anyway, what did “protection” mean? Erin had a good idea, but she had to be sure she was on the same page as her aunt. “By ‘protection,’ you mean ‘diapers,’ right?”

“Yes.”

Erin had never really considered diapers for her bedwetting. “Do they even make them for people my age?” she asked, genuinely curious. She immediately regretted asking, though; she remembered that back when she was a little girl she’d had a friend whose older brother had some physical and mental handicaps, and he had to wear diapers.
