Erin was happy that she wasn’t the only one wearing diapers, but if Hailey was only pretending to want to help her out, then far be it from her to force Hailey to embarrass herself for Erin’s sake.
No sense in wondering, Erin thought. “Hailey… if you really don’t want to wear the diapers, you don’t have to. I won’t be mad.”
“Erin, I already told you not to worry about it.”
“I won’t tell your parents if you decide not to.”
So that’s what this is about, realized Hailey. She realized that it’s in my interest to help her and thinks I wouldn’t want to do it otherwise.
