“right get into bed” she said as I scrambled over to the bed and lay down. Charlotte came into the room and handed me a bottle of Chocolate milk. “I want to see that bottle empty by morning” she said handing it me. As they both left the room “night night Jakey. The girls have to pack for the holiday, see you in the morning” they both said in unison as if they practised saying it.
I lay there thinking about the next 2 weeks ahead. As I slowly tasted the bottle and didn’t want to find out what might happen if I didn’t drink it. I think I made it to the end of the bottle as I slowly drifted off to sleep hearing the car boot and doors close and open as they were packing the car ready for the morning.
