Billy spent a tumultuous few minutes trying to answer his guardian’s questions about what he’d learned at school. At first, he tried to recall the maths, the spelling, and the reading before telling her about learning to play hopscotch and the clapping game fiasco. “So you’re getting along with the other girls?” she asked.
“Yes… Ma’am.” he meekly replied.
“And they’re teaching you how to be a nice young lady?” she asked.
“Er.. yes… Ma’am.” he reluctantly admitted.
