Reply Being a member of the dry river club, I found that the best way to apply foundation powder was with a firm brush. It doesn’t seem to gather as much.

Reply The more one’s face resembles a dry river bed, the less one should use powder. Yes, even those who have no issue with oily skin might get some benefit from powder if they have cracked and crease-free skin to begin with, but if they’re in the dry river bed category like me, I advise going […]
Crossdressing & Foundation Setting Powder6
Reply Perhaps I was being liberal with the word ‘liberal’ but conversely, if you’re trying to set a foundation then being too frugal won’t cut it either. As for only using powder on oily skin, many a pro makeup artist would beg to differ. Setting the foundation with powder makes it last longer. In the […]

Reply This is confounding. Seems to me that in no case should one be “liberal” in the use of powder. One should always use as little as possible. Moreover, the powder is really advisable only for those who have oily skin.

The L’Oreal foundation is the cheapest one I use the results with the baby powder were quite frankly astounding. Not least of all probably because I was far more liberal with it than the twenty pounds a pop, small pot of Vichy setting powder. My other foundations are Vichy Dermablend Doll 10 TCE Doll 10 […]

Reply I used Tesco Baby Powder. So first wash and then moisturize with Nivea 3 in 1 cleanser, toner, moisturiser Then I used L’Oreal Infallible mattifying primer base. Then Dermacolor D32 set with the baby powder. Then L’Oreal Infallible Full coverage foundation set with the baby powder and then a bit of bronzer for contouring. […]

Reply I’ve been using baby powder for years, both as a setting powder (before bronzer/blush) and to define just above the jawline. Reply I’m going to use baby powder. Just love the smell. And it’s so much cheaper than setting powder

Question Has anyone ever used talc instead? I have for the first time tonight and so far I can’t tell the difference. The cost difference of course is diabolical. I looked at the ingredients of a couple of my usual brands, Vichy and L’Oreal, and both contain talc. Edit: If this turns out to be […]

Reply Just tried bendable foam rollers. Hardly held in place and a bit of a disappointment really. But they were pound shop ones that wife picked up for me to try. I think will have to try something more expensive, or I am due a haircut soon.

Reply I have a similar problem. I use a large round brush as I dry my hair. When it’s almost dry wrap the hair around the brush and heat it with the dryer to dry it. Switch the dryer to cold or allow the hair to cool to set it. Once it’s styled add hair […]
