Corporal punishment survey
Hi, I don’t know if this forum can help, but I’m trying to put together some realistic data regarding the use of corporal punishment in schools.
Reading this and other internet sources of information it is clearly very hard to distinguish between genuine accounts of CP, peoples fantasies, and role play.
School punishment books are difficult to find, or access. When they are available they only show the information that the establishments wished to disclose. They also only reflect official punishments, generally administered by the Head, consequentially they are not very representative of the general use of CP within schools.
If I study references in the media, the reports are generally only written when the incident was questionably outside the law. In England where I live, and indeed went to school, corporal punishment was legally practiced up until 1986. Therefore there would be no reason for the media to cover anything except the unusual.

Any other relevant info: I had been caned before but being told to take off my blazer and drop my trousers was more embarrassing and worse than the caning even though it stung more than anything. Getting the extra stroke was unfair as I jumped after the last stroke which really hurt as it landed very low below the sides of my pants.

The girl was the class amazon who took a delight in breaking up boys’ games which she had just done so I decided to get even. Of course she squealed and the teacher turned and saw me with the pigtail in my hand. So no escape. She called me to the front and in my innocence I thought she was just going to bawl me out but as I got close she quickly and without warning caught hold of me, put me over her knee and must have pulled my shorts down and proceeded to spank my bottom. I didn’t count the spanks, I was too shocked but I guess it must have been about 10 to 12.Of course I had been spanked at home but this was different as it was a teacher and in public. I cried, of course and the girl and her friends giggled and sniggered at my discomfort.

Any other relevant info: The offence was the usual thing with boys a fight broke out and a few joined in and we were caught. We all knew we would be punished so it was fair and well deserved. It was the first time any of us had had the strap applied to our bottoms as it was usually one stroke on each hand. Maybe she thought 4 was too many for the hands or believed that applied to the bottom was more severe. It certainly was painful then and after.

Were you ever punished again for the same offence?: No I learnt to come in 15 minutes late rather than 5 and avoid the deputy head who stood at the gates collecting names until assembly started.
Do you consider the punishment effective?: No for the reason above even though it was my first caning and taken on underpants which was the normal way at this school. It certainly hurt and it was embarrassing exposing your underpants in front of other boys but I got used to that as it was the normal way to receive the cane.
Any other relevant info: The deputy head always stood at the gate with a prefect from 9 am and took the names of boys who arrived after this time. The prefect I guess was there to run after any boys that tried to climb over the low fence/wall surrounding the school. The flaw was that they gave up after 10 minutes to join in the assembly so if you learnt and waited you could avoid them. The punishment was a half hour detention on Friday after school. As I had been at the school only a few months when I was caught I didn’t know that at the end of detention each boy received two strokes of the cane. Imagine my surprise when at the end of detention the deputy head pulled out a desk into the centre of the room and each boy was called forward oldest first, took off his blazer, dropped his trousers and was caned on his underpants. The older boys got 4 and younger boys, 1st and 2nd formers got two.

Any other relevant info: The Art Master had to leave the class for some reason (probably a smoke!!) and of course when he returned there was complete disorder, shouting running around and paint being thrown about. As the ringleaders wouldn’t own up he determined he would cane the whole form. The room was set out with the desks in U formation so we all had to queue up and file around to the front where he caned each boy in turn. I assume he just caned us bent over and hands on knees and shorts up to save time and get through 25 boys. It was more fun than punishment for me even though the two strokes did sting. I felt sorry for the well behaved boys who had never been caned before as they were terrified and a few of them burst into tears. It was interesting seeing other being caned though.

My school was a small two classroom school with about 60 pupils and we had two teachers one of whom was also the headmistress. Pupils aged from 5 to 12 and were a mixture of those who lived in town and those who lived on outlying farms. Spanking (for the younger pupils) and the cane were the two common forms of punishment as it was difficult to use other methods which kept pupils behind as there was only one bus for those who lived on the farms. My sister and my friends sister also stole the berries and they were caned. We were not present when they were caned but I could just see our headmistress lifting my sister’s dress up to cane her across her knickers. After the girls were caned we were caned in the classroom. I was spanked and caned several times during my schooling there. My parents found out that we had been in trouble and my sister and I were spanked by our father after supper that night.

EFFECTIVNESS : One of the most painful canings i ever received as i was only wearing shorts at the time
OTHER INFO : boys & girls changing room only seperated by connecting door,there were slight gaps down the side of door so you could get the odd glimpse of the girls getting changed and of course vice-versa
We were caught red handed by Mr Seddon who threatened to bring the girls into the gym to witness our punishment,thankfully he never carried out the threat.The marks took a week and half to fade

Any other relevant info: I attended the Infant and Junior departments of this school and loved it. As far as I am aware CP was only administered to Juniors and although they stood no nonsense none of the teachers were sadistic, they simply punished when considered necessary.
In the Infants all teachers were female but in the Juniors the mix, as far as I can remember, was 5 female and 3 male, including the Headmaster.

Corporal punishment survey
Hi, I don’t know if this forum can help, but I’m trying to put together some realistic data regarding the use of corporal punishment in schools.
Reading this and other internet sources of information it is clearly very hard to distinguish between genuine accounts of CP, peoples fantasies, and role play.
School punishment books are difficult to find, or access. When they are available they only show the information that the establishments wished to disclose. They also only reflect official punishments, generally administered by the Head, consequentially they are not very representative of the general use of CP within schools.
If I study references in the media, the reports are generally only written when the incident was questionably outside the law. In England where I live, and indeed went to school, corporal punishment was legally practiced up until 1986. Therefore there would be no reason for the media to cover anything except the unusual.
Many of us however have witnessed (often first hand) the use of corporal punishment at school. If you have (as indeed have I) I’d be very grateful if you’d reply to this post giving as much accurate information as you feel comfortable with. However to keep this thread out of the realm of fantasy, I’d ask that you only post facts, and leave the creative writing and long discussions to other forums.

Any Any other relevant info: This was the second time I had been caned by this teacher (see previous entry). Both strokes were on my right hand because my left wrist was heavily bandaged due to an accident at home. They hurt and I cried. Crying was not unknown after a caning, usually by the girls, boys tended to sniffle quietly. I was crying openly. The teacher took me out of the room and to the washbasins at the end of the corridor (school toilets were outside in the playground) and helped me to wash then dry my face. After I settled down she took me back to the classroom and and some of my classmates started to snigger and make little crying noises. They quickly stopped when she said that the cane wasn’t a laughing matter and if anyone thought it was then they they would be given the chance to find out.

Any other relevant info: I received 1 stroke of the cane on my hand whilst in class. It stung but I tried to show that it didn’t (there were girls in the class and I wanted to be macho – also my past record of crying might have had something to do with it) so on my my way back to my desk I mouthed ‘it didn’t hurt’ to nearby pupils . The teacher must have heard for at the end of the day she told me to stay behind as she wanted to speak to me. When the room was empty she told me that I was becoming very cheeky and that she had something that I would find did hurt. She produced what appeared to be part of a leather belt. I was told to bend over one of the school desks and she gave me 4 strokes. They all hurt and once again I cried. She gave me a sealed envelope addressed to my mother. I never read the letter but it must have informed her about my punishment. She knew the teacher personally because of their membership of a ladies organisation in the town and later informed me that they had discussed my behaviour and that she had given the teacher permission to use the belt whenever I was cheeky.
(Note: About 2 years after leaving this school this same teacher again punished me with the belt on the school premises but it was in response to a request made by my mother It was a trousers-down thing and very embarrassing).

I had to wait several minutes outside the classroom with my hands on my head and nose to the wall. Miss Kamer went into her classroom and came out with her ruler. The ruler was about 50 centimetres long and was quite thick. The teacher who had caught me out of bounds witnessed my punishment and I found that particularly embarrassing. I remember my bottom stinging for several minutes afterwards and I had to wait outside her classroom with my hands on my head and nose to the wall for the remainder of recess. I had strong ruler marks on my bottom when I changed into my speedo for swimming lessons that afternoon. I had Miss Kamer as my teacher the next year and she gave me the ruler again for being out of my chair while she was out of the classroom. Miss Kamer gave boys and girls the ruler and she had no qualms about giving the ruler in front of the class. Girls received the ruler on their upper thighs and boys right across our bums. If you misbehaved again she would send you to the headmaster for the cane.
