First time i was naked anyway as was larking around in the showers with a few other lads. We all got 6 each bare bottom. Second time had been sent off for swearing in a rugby match. I was just wearing my jock when head of PE came in and aftet a lecture made me bend overand put my palms on the changing room bench and gave me 6 stingers.

Well was embarrrsing first time was 1968 i was i was 14 and i was crying at end of it. Second 1970 I was 16 was teary eyed at end. Worde but òf that one was having to shower with rest of team all seeing that I had been slippered.

I was caned at school for a variety of offences. This was at a UK boarding school in the 1950s, which specialised in troublesome boys. I was caned on the bare bottom many times, but I particularly remember being punished for taking another boy’s shoes – caned on the bare in front of the whole boarding house – a so-called house caning.

I was eleven years old and was punished for my part in attempted arson. Sis strokes of the cane on my bare bottom, in front of my three co-conspirators. We were all horrified by the whole thing, as indeed we were intended to. Afterwards, of course, we could not wait to display our beaten bottoms!

This was our housemaster, who was shaking with anger – not surprising really because we nearly burned the house down. We had to parade for punishment wearing nothing but very skimpy gym shorts which were dropped to our ankles for the actual caning. After our six strokes each we were reminded that parading in gym shorts was a concession to first year boys only – after that he would take pleasure in seeing us without them. As we later discovered, he was as good as his word.
