I carried on with my venture, I got to the crossroads at the end of the street, my initial plan was to take a right but this would miss out a good 20 minutes of a possible detour so I changed my planned route.
I went left instead and took the much longer route, a few more streets and I was back to where I had begun.
By this time I was beginning to grow accustomed to walking comfortably in my heels and was loving the clicking the metal tips were making against the pavement and the road.
Rather than go home now, I continued up another street totally unplanned, this street was much quieter and not so well lit up although it was terraced houses on either side with no dark recesses for the potential of any lurkers.
