Because of the high walls, I was much more conscious of the loud echo from my heels but this just added to the excitement of being dressed the way I was.
I walked the whole length of this street like this, always looking back over my shoulder to make sure no one had suddenly appeared.
I had to now take a right to get back onto the right street to go home and further down the end of this road were two guys walking away from me, both with baggage – by the looks of things probably heading for the bus or train station.
I had to quickly readjust my skirt to look respectable but from their range, it wouldn’t have been possible to see much anyway.
I was surprised neither of them turned around with the clicking of my heels, they both seemed to be really getting into their conversation – whatever that was about.
