Buying underwear a size too small is just going to be uncomfortable and will ruin your profile.

Avoid stretchy fabrics;

its a fallacy to think that they will squeeze you in,

what actually happens is that you will stretch them out.

A proper gaff is one solution.

Another is a pair of control pants, in which the control part goes all the way down the front.

A friend of mine once put a triangle of cardboard down the front of her pants, not comfortable but quite effective.

A more sensible idea would be to get a triangle of soft leather (leather doesn’t stretch) and fit that into the front of your pants.
