If it’s any help I have my hair cut in a totally feminine style.

I wear it no differently whether at work as a male or out with friends as Sarah.

I’ve been terrified all my life of growing my hair but now I have done it no one really says anything.

If anybody does I either say it’s a mid-life crisis or that I do a drag act at weekends.

They immediately presume I’m joking and we have a good laugh.

Come clean with your hairdresser.

Let them help you with choosing the best style for your hair given your circumstances.

It would be a shame to lose what must have taken months to grow!
