Colour Correction

If your beard shadow is still clearly visible after shaving, it’s sometimes recommended to use another colour to ‘cancel out’ this shade before applying foundation. This follows the principles laid out on this guide for colour correction. For beardshadow that is of a blue-ish-purple colour the most appropriate shades to ‘correct’ this this are said to be oranges, reds, and peaches. Again, it’s worth experimenting with different shades to see which is best for you — though it’s worth pointing out that the most often suggested colour is orange, so that could be a good starting point. Applying a thin coat of your colour-correcter before using foundation is the suggested procedure.
