I’ve not tried the pre-glued ones, but I have used the sticky pads, from I think Nailene or Eyelure. They actually stick very firmly, I’ve had a set last me for a few days and they can be quite hard to remove. But if they do decide to come off, then pressing them back on doesn’t work, they seem to have lost most of their adhesion, and you have to replace the sticky pad.

In my experience with false nails, I tend to place the sticky pad on my natural nails, but then put super glue ( nail glue ) on the sticky pad to adhere the false nail to. It seems the sticky pads stick much better to your natural nail, than they do to the false one. It also means that when you remove the false nails, you don’t have to worry about removing glue too.. I’ve always found this method very reliable
