I’d probably avoid the wand curlers. It’s quite easy to tangle your hair in them.
Have you thought of using plastic curlers on your fringe? You could use a dryer to set.
I’ve used straighteners to curl hair..but conscious of heat damage so don’t use straighteners too often

Try setting your hair on small perm rods.
