The living room itself smelt good; as three different Joss sticks were being burnt. Candles in holders were also burning and dotted on the walls and on the large low table located in the middle of the room. When everyone entered some of the guests said hi to the new arrivals.

Sitting on cushions, bean bags, or low-backed comfy armchairs were about 15 people nearly all dressed in a similar way to Paul, Sandra, Tina, and Abs. The only two who were not dressed in black were Tom and Nick, Tom was dressed in dark blue jeans and a red T-shirt and Nick was dressed in a pair of lightweight trousers and a light blue T-shirt.
