The local nuns never used to bother me. That could not be said for a lot of my friends.
Cranhill School was lovely, all the staff seemed more like family members than our teachers. the place had it’s fair share of do’s and dont’s as with any school. My Aunt always wanted Mum to have me enrolled in one of those High-brow All girls schools, in Hamilton or Lanark. She never had the cash to do that. Then Mum became best friends with a vodka bottle and that was how I came to have my aunt Meg as my legal guardian. I was punished at home but only when I truly merited such treatment.
