Where did you read that it said that corporal punishment CAUSED school shooting? You are reading something into it that clearly is not there. What the data suggests is that there is some sort of correlation between being a victim of school corporal punishment and being someone who shoots others at school. The data states that the two characteristics coexisted frequently not that one caused the other. While it certainly does not indicate that being corporally punished at school causes one to shoot others in school, it does clearly show that being corporally punished did not deter those who did shoot others at school from engaging in such a behavior.
