2006 is definitely not 1960…society has changed incredibly in the last 40 to 50 year for a whole lot of different reasons.
You’re really not one of those guys who is going to try to attribute all of societal changes and probems in that time to lack of CP, are you? It is such a naive argument in light of the huge changes in culture, the family, latchkey situations, the diminishing of the middle class, divorce rate, morality, etc. etc. etc.
I really get tired of hearing the “cane as magic wand” theory of solving social problems and it is incredible that anyone who looks around could think that solid parenting and the development of a real sense of morality and responsibility can be either replaced or achieved by striping a kid’s bum with a stick.
