If corporal punishment causes school shootings why were they not more of these in Britain in the past? Go back sixty or more years and C.P. was rife at schools such as Eton, Harrow, Winchester and the less famous establishments which immitated them. Many private schools had Officer Training Corps. They acctualy gave boys real guns and taught them how to use them! The social class from where they came were familiar with firearms anyway, every large country house had it’s gun room and learning to shoot was part of young gentleman’s education. Before 1918 there were hardly any firearms laws.
