A girl who lived in the same street was very interested in a slippering I received from the P.E master for throwing snowballs at a group of girls, she wasn’t one of them but did witness it.Apparently, she heard every whack administered as she was in the playground under the window of the stock room where the P.E. master slippered me. She knew how many I received, which could have been a guess, she knew it was the plimsoll because of the noise it made, which also could have been a guess, but she also knew that I had to bend over the desk and hold onto the far side as instructed by the P.E master, she also commented that it must have hurt a lot as she heard me howl.
