I’d never deny that CP can be abused but absence of CP won’t prevent abuse. What Slade did was illegal and the fact the CP, per se, was legal didn’t change that. Child abuse, still goes on but now it’s often psychological so less likely to be noticed. At least with abusive CP there’s physical evidence.
Used properly, CP is a useful tool and can be considerably less damaging that some of the alternative sanctions now used.
