Cothill has only ever had on girl pupil-a tom boy looking girl.Its probable that individual masters did their own things around the school probably out of sight of any Head ensconsed in his Study.However there are no defifinte accounts of freelance beatings.One thing hat does jar is a curous photo on page 23 of some Cothill Pupils swimming in the buff.The photo of scrawny youths was taken around 1920.Of no interest in itself but like other snapshots in the book the photo is in grainy black and white with scuffs and fade spots on the surface.Because of this its not possible to be sure about the curious appearence the the main subjects buttocks in the photo!
