Mr. McCall, K.C. and Mr. Neilson appeared for the plaintiff; the first two defendants appeared in person; and Mr. A.H. Forbes represented Mr. W. Hardwick.

At the beginning of these proceedings, Mr. FORBES, on behalf of Mr. Hardwick, said that he desired to tender to Dr. Keats his very sincere apologies for anything in the pamphlet printed by him which contained any attack on the plaintiff, and also to express regret that he should have been a party to its publication. He was also willing to pay a sum of money to the plaintiff in respect of his costs.

Mr. MCCALL said he accepted the statement which had been made, and as regarded the printer the record would be withdrawn.
