THE PUNISHMENT OF INFIRMARY BOYS
KEATS v. BRACEY-WRIGHT AND OTHERS

(Before MR. JUSTICE SCRUTTON and a Special Jury.)

The hearing of this case was continued to-day. The plaintiff, Dr. W.J.C. Keats, the superintendent of the Camberwell Infirmary, sued the defendants, Mrs. C.A.R. Bracey-Wright (also known as the Countess de Lormet) and her son, Mr. W.H.C. Bracey-Wright, to recover damages for an alleged libel contained in an election address and leaflet issue by the defendants in connexion with an election for the Camberwell Board of Guardians.

The alleged libel made allegations against the plaintiff as to the whipping of four boys who were inmates of the Camberwell Infirmary.

Mr. McCall, K.C., and Mr. A. Neilson appeared for the plaintiff; and the defendants appeared in person.
