Further evidence was given to-day on behalf of the defendants.

Mrs. Bracey-Wright, the first defendant, examined by Mr. Bracey-Wright, said that she had a considerable experience with children and had had a large family of her own.

MR. JUSTICE SCRUTTON.- I suppose, Mrs. Bracey-Wright, we must not inquire whether corporal punishment was employed in their up-bringing. (Laughter.)

Continuing, the witness said that at time to the guardians’ election last year, when she published her election address and the leaflet, she had no animosity against anyone. Her election address contained no personal attack upon anybody.
