Mr. McCall. K.C., and Mr. A. Neilson appeared for the plaintiff; and Mr. Cecil Walsh, K.C., and Mr. Simey for the defendants.

A number of nurses from the infirmary were called to prove the bad behaviour of certain boys who had been corrected by the plaintiff. They said that some of the boys who were whipped were quite incorrigible.

Mrs. Carrington, the mother of one of the boys concerned, said that she approved of the whipping administered to her son, as he was difficult to manage.

Some further evidence having been given the plaintiff’s case was closed.
