No caning at my junior school, at least not for juniors. The office of the joint headmaster of the junior and senior schools, where boys and girls from the senior school were caned, was however situated in and opened off the junior school playground.
So, no caning of juniors at my junior school. Not a huge amount of caning at my secondary school either. Only the prefects and the headmaster caned, and the latter not very often. However the cane could be guaranteed for certain offences. Had I wished to get myself caned by the prefects it would have been very easy. Any regularly repeated school uniform infraction would have done, without even needing to consider the several other possibilities.
