A lot of people as soon as it is stated a boy was caned on his bottom compare it with today’s standards and think of it as abuse. What is overlooked is that society looked upon things differently then than now. I am not trying to justify the fact I caned boys bare, I do not feel I need to justify it, but why it was accepted which so many do not understand. Some of these things are really only applicable to St Peter’s.
