I have never thought about it before but reading through this thread has made me wonder where my teachers at primary school got their `slippers` from.
Of course when you are small and facing an irate teacher pulling a plimsoll out of a draw, that plimsoll suddenly takes on fearsome proportions! I am fairly sure they were adult size though.
I wonder where they got them from? None of the teachers ever got changed for PE they would just stand and bark orders. I have my doubts any of the plimsolls had ever been worn by the person wielding them. They must have got them specially for the purpose of punishment.
