It was my primary school but my father’s only school, he left at fourteen. I am fairly certain there was at least one lady infant teacher but my dad can not really remember much about her, he only seems to have had one teacher ( a male) in what would be the juniors so approximately aged eight to fourteen. I don`t know if the teacher employed this method throughout the whole of this time or just in the younger years.
The self caning seem to have taken place in class but I am not sure if they were required to come out to front of class. From the way my father has described it I get the impression the teacher approached them armed with the cane while they were still sitting at their desks.
