There are as I say studies which argue the reverse. Some are from strongly abolitionist factions but not all by a long chalk But to my knowledge non of them directly addresses the SCER material, But in a sense this to me is irrelevant, as if you reject the empiricist method you need to look for more socially grounded approaches.

Sorry to be so lengthy , but this is a defining issue in the social sciences, where there are so many conflicting theories of what constitutes knowledge and proof. .The Anglo Saxon (or should I say positivist world relies greatly on its empiricism , scientific, and rationalist logic. Personally I find more interest and humanity in continental philosophy and alternative research methods, in this instance Freud , Lacan, and Foucault.
