To be frank, such things were almost certainly far less common than many people seem to believe. The vast majority of accounts of homosexual acts among boarding school boys (whether consensual or not) were pornographic accounts that professed to be true, whether or not they were. They should be viewed with the same level of credibility afforded to accounts of schoolgirls being caned by male teachers on the bare bottom or across their knickers. Did it happen sometimes? Certainly. Did it happen anywhere near as often as the writers who write about it claim? Certainly not. Is every account true? No.
Some are. And there would also be cases that were never reported. But such things were quite rare. Not quite common as many people seem to believe
