I always suspected geography masters all came from Barking, now I’ve had it confirmed. I never had a sane one in my 4 years of it at MGS.
It was the last choice of subjects for O levels we made, at the end of 4N. You dropped 2 out of Woodwork/Art/Music at the end of year 3, then two of what that left you/History/Geography, so it was Adios the main export of Seattle etc and time signatures etc for moi in July 1967.
I wasn’t bad at it(the answer to the above was fish processing & canning except between 1988-1994, when grunge rock bands were in real vogue), but I still can’t pick too many US/Australian states on quiz maps.
Mr M at least recognised something noble in W. Have to say, in 3N, I was appointed form captain(yes, really!) & told Sid Yates he hadn’t set us any Geography homework.
After nearly having a heart attack at ME saying this, Sid let us off it for my honesty. Told you they were all mad!
